The holy month of Muharram marks the beginning of the Islamic Hijri calendar — a time steeped in migration, courage, and unwavering devotion. It is not just the start of a new year, but an invitation to renew our spiritual path, remember history’s sacrifices, and recommit to mercy and service.
✨ In this sacred month, we honor: The Hijrah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to Medina, a journey of hope and transformation. The trust and loyalty of Imam ‘Ali (as), who offered his life in place of the Prophet ﷺ. The companionship of Sayed Abubakr Siddiq (as) in the Cave of Thawr — an act commemorated in Surat at-Tawbah (9:40). The arrival of the Prophet ﷺ in Medinatul Munawwara on the day of Ashura. The martyrdom of Imam Hussain (as) and the stand of truth and dignity in the plains of Karbala — a legacy that still inspires hearts to rise with compassion and courage.

🕋 Reviving a Blessed Tradition — Make Your Qurbani in Muharram It is a noble practice of Sultan al-Awliya Shaykh ‘Abdullah al-Daghistani (q) to offer Qurban (sacrifice) of two sheep on the Day of ‘Ashura, and again on the 14th of Muharram — the blessed birthday of Shah Naqshband (q). This sacrifice was distributed to the poor and needy as a gesture of love, remembrance, and support.

On the day before the first day of Muharram it is recommended to do the following practices after Salatul ‘Asr (before sunset) prayer:

It is a tradition and practice of Sultan al Awliya Shaykh ‘Abdullah al Daghistani (q) to make Qurban (sacrifice) of two sheep on the day of ‘Ashura and distribute the meat to the poor and needy. He also did this on the birthday of Shah Naqshband (q) on 14th Muharram.
